Olubadan-designate Rasidi Ladoja arrives in Ibadan for family prayers and begins traditional rites ahead of his installation as the 44th Olubadan

The Olubadan-designate Rasidi Ladoja has returned to his family house at Isale-Osi in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, where he was warmly received by relatives and friends on Monday afternoon.

Arriving in the city at 1:20 p.m., Oba Ladoja was welcomed with both Muslim and Christian prayers organized by his family. After the prayer sessions, he is expected to proceed to his Bodija residence later in the day.

Sources confirmed that the former governor is set to commence the traditional rites required for his installation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

His nomination was officially ratified by the Olubadan-in-Council during a meeting at the new Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, on Monday, August 4, 2025.

The motion for his nomination was moved by the Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and seconded by Osi Olubadan, Oba Eddy Oyewole.

Though Oba Ladoja was absent at the meeting, his name is expected to be forwarded to Governor Seyi Makinde for final approval.

With the prayers and traditional processes now underway, Ibadanland moves closer to formally crowning Oba Rasidi Ladoja as its next paramount ruler.
