AFRIMA global calendar for the 10th edition was unveiled in Beverly Hills, as the AU-backed awards push African music toward new investment
On Sunday, 20 September 2026 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, the All Africa Music Awards International Executive Committee and the African Union presented the official AFRIMA global calendar for the landmark 10th edition, setting out the path from Africa’s music capitals to one of the world’s entertainment centres.
The AFRIMA global calendar was the centrepiece of a Los Angeles engagement that also included the AFRIMA Creative Industry Roundtable and Stakeholders Conference, themed “Catalyst for Collaboration & Investment in the Global Creative Industry.” Organisers said the room would hold artistes, actors, investors, policymakers, media executives and members of the African diaspora.
AFRIMA presents itself as Africa’s longest-running continental music awards platform, broadcast in more than 84 countries.
The RoadTo10thAFRIMA tour had already stopped in Dar es Salaam, Abidjan, Rabat and Casablanca.
Earlier calendar unveilings were held in The Gambia, Ghana, South Africa, Dakar, Lagos and at African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa. Main shows have been staged in Lagos, Accra and Dakar.
Associate co-producer and North America jury member Hadja Kobele said the Los Angeles stop was meant to tighten the link between African music and the diaspora.
“The 10th AFRIMA Global Calendar Unveiling in Los Angeles is an important moment for the African creative ecosystem and the African diaspora,” Hadja Kobele said. “Los Angeles is a global centre for entertainment, and bringing AFRIMA here creates an opportunity to build stronger bridges between African creatives, industry professionals, investors and the diaspora community.”
Associate producer Victoria Nkong said the conference had to produce more than a date sheet. “The creative industry is one of Africa’s strongest assets, but its full potential can only be achieved when we create the right platforms for collaboration, investment and shared knowledge,” Victoria Nkong said. “As we unveil the calendar for the 10th AFRIMA, we are also opening conversations about the future of the industry.”
The published calendar is meant to give nominees, partners and audiences a clearer sequence of milestones before the main awards.
Whether Los Angeles becomes a lasting AFRIMA station, or a one-off showcase, will be judged by the partnerships that follow the AFRIMA global calendar off the stage.
