Lateef Adedimeji honoured with award recognition came after he was celebrated for his impact in the film industry, a moment he shared with fans through a video posted from the ceremony.

In his reaction, Adedimeji said his original goal when entering the industry was to find creative expression and build a name for himself, but noted that his purpose evolved over time into inspiring younger generations of aspiring creatives.

He described the recognition as a testament to hard work, discipline and determination, adding that it felt surreal to be acknowledged as one of the industry figures he once looked up to.

The actor expressed gratitude to the organisers of the awards, noting that the honour had reinforced his commitment to continue contributing meaningfully to the film industry.

Adedimeji also shared a motivational message with emerging talents, encouraging them to remain consistent in their craft and believe in the possibility of success through perseverance.

Beyond the Africa Illustrious Awards recognition, the actor has recently enjoyed further industry success, including major wins at the AMVCA, where his film “Lisabi” received awards for Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa) and Best Makeup.

During his AMVCA acceptance speech, Adedimeji dedicated his award to his wife, acknowledging her support and the personal milestones they have shared together.

The actor has often spoken about his early struggles in the industry, recalling periods when he faced rejection and uncertainty but continued to work persistently, even taking on unpaid roles to build experience.

He has also previously reflected on being doubted at the beginning of his career, including remarks from early mentors who predicted limited success, a challenge he says strengthened his determination to succeed.
