Speed Darlington has opened up about being single as he nears 60, saying he hopes to build a family and find fulfilment beyond personal success

Nigerian singer and rapper Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has spoken candidly about his personal life, expressing disappointment over remaining unmarried and without children as he approaches the age of 60.

The outspoken entertainer shared his thoughts in a recent video broadcast, saying he now desires a family and believes there is more to life than the achievements he has accumulated over the years.

Reflecting on his current situation, Speed Darlington admitted that he had expected to be married with children at this stage of his life.

“I am close to 60 with no wife or child. Is this how I am going to live my life? All I have to show is American papers. I want more than American papers out of life,” he said.

The rapper added that he now places greater value on building meaningful relationships and finding fulfilment beyond career accomplishments.

“I want family, freedom and respect,” he added.

The remarks have sparked conversations on social media, with many fans reacting to the artist’s unusually reflective comments, a contrast to the bold and humorous persona he is widely known for.

Speed Darlington has previously made his search for a life partner public. A few years ago, he shared a list of qualities he wanted in a prospective wife, stating that his ideal partner should be dark-skinned, between 18 and 23 years old, fluent in English and Igbo, and meet other personal preferences.

Despite the public appeal, the rapper has yet to announce a marriage or the birth of any children.
