Tyla emerged as one of the biggest winners of the night after clinching Best Afrobeats Artist and the fan-voted Social Song of the Year for her global hit single “Chanel”, a performance that underscored her growing international influence.

The ceremony, which drew some of the world’s biggest music stars, saw Tyla outshine prominent African nominees including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema and Moliy in the Best Afrobeats Artist category, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Her victory with “Chanel” added to an already impressive chart run, with the track surpassing 320 million Spotify streams and enjoying strong global commercial success since its release in October 2025.

Tyla, who first rose to prominence with her 2023 breakout hit “Water”, has steadily built a reputation as one of Africa’s most influential young artists on the global stage.

The track previously earned her a Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance and broke into the US Billboard Hot 100 top 10.

Her growing accolades also include consecutive MTV Video Music Awards wins in 2024 and 2025, further reinforcing her international profile.

Music industry observers have described her latest AMA triumph as a powerful statement of consistency and global appeal, highlighting her continued rise within mainstream pop and Afrobeats fusion.
